Looking for a creative outlet as well as a special and unique gift for the 1998 holiday season I happened to come across a soap making book. Intrigued that you could actually make your own soap from a handful of ingredients I purchased several books and thus began my journey.

After a year of experimenting and learning how to create our own formula and with the encouragement from friends and family I began to sell our soap at local farmers markets and online from our website. As business grew we expanded our product line to include bath salts, bath bombs, incense and candles as well as gift baskets.

In 2005 it was time to take a look at our company and decide which direction we wanted to go. We had spent many years selling at local shows and farmers markets and it was time to refresh our company and revamp our product line.

We still wanted to sell retail from our website so we had our site revamped to make ordering and navigation easier. We also phased out those products that were time consuming to manufacture or that took up a lot of storage space and added products that are boutique ready.

We have narrowed down our product line to soap, lotion, sugar scrubs and whipped body cream. Our products are grouped in scent collections for a complimentary look and feel. Even though we sell retail from our website our target market and specialty is catering to wholesale accounts which include gift shops, boutiques and natural food stores.

The beginning of a new year brings new things and in January 2007 I had decided with the direction our company was going it was high time for us to get our very own branded look! We had a logo and related packaging specifically designed to fit with our company image.

Country Meadow is an eco-friendly company and uses recycled content packaging whenever possible. Our business correspondence is printed on recycled paper. We also reuse Styrofoam peanuts and boxes for shipping orders. If we have to purchase our own peanuts for packaging we buy the biodegradable ones.

Our products are biodegradable and will not harm the environment. All products are made in the U.S.A. and are not outsourced or imported. Product packaging is recyclable in most areas.

Country Meadow is studio based in an urban setting. Because we do not have a retail store all retail orders are placed via our website and shipped. Wholesale orders are either delivered or shipped as needed.

We have been in business for many years and look forward to the many years ahead. Our notebooks are full of great ideas and products and we look forward to presenting them to you in the near future!
