We get so many compliments on our packaging…
People have a hard time believing we actually MAKE our soap boxes!

I will admit it is NOT cost effective labor-wise however you will NOT find packaging like ours!

After I design the soap boxes I take a specific brand and color of very heavy card stock and print out the boxes.

Then I take an exacto knife and metal ruler to cut out the template.

Then I take a plastic tool and ruler and score where the folds are (I hate this step the worst!).

Then after folding in the proper area I glue the boxes together with an industrial quick drying glue gun.

I am ALWAYS working on soap boxes!

Like I said….
It’s not cost effective labor wise but they are extremely unique!

We had for several years carried a lavender soap….actually since we do products in sets of three we had lavender, rose and lilac. After so many years you get tired of the same scents over and over and over again so we discontinued that set.

Over this last year we have had several requests for….lavender….so much so that I have decided to bring lavender back.

However…
It won’t be a straight lavender!

I have a list of 6 different lavender blends that I’m going to order samples of. Out of those 6 I hope to choose 3 to make soap test batches with.

And yes….
If you haven’t figured it out already…

We will be doing a set of 3 lavender-type soap….and who knows….we may be adding lotion (formula currently being revised) and sugar scrubs…how fun would that be!!!???

We are now on the downhill slide….
This week we are making our final batches of fall and holiday soap!

Cold process soap takes at least 4 weeks to cure so any soap made this week won’t be ready til mid-November. We have plenty of stock already so we should be good to go. The trick is to sell out of everything holiday-ish by mid-December!

Cranberry fig has been a big seller over the years but I’m thinking this year I just might have had enough. I have enough of this fragrance oil to make a few more batches however I am toying with the idea of moving this scent to the one-of catagory and bringing in a new holiday scent for next year. What do you think?

And no…I’m not talking about the falling satellite!

We have four new fragrances just waiting for us to test. I’m not entirely sure where we will go with these at the moment but here is what I’m thinking….providing they hold up (meaning the scent doesn’t fade or is too weak) in cold process soap:

Bay Rum (we’ve used this fragrance before in shaving soap)…it was wonderful and I have high expectations for this one. If we decide to add this one permantly it will be in the One-Of catagory.

Bourbon de Vanilla – This smells wonderful oob (out of the bottle). Hubs even likes this one! I’m looking to eventually replace our Southern Comfort soap but am at this point undecided what it will be. I bought this fragrance to test only and the soap will be, at first, in the One-of catagory.

Patchouli Raspberry – This one oob (out of bottle) is iffy for me. Hubs gives it a thumbs up so we will see how it holds up in cold process soap. If it works then it will be added to our Patchouli catagory.

Maharani Padparadsch – Please don’t ask me to say this one out loud! I have no idea how to describe this one except to say I like it! I bought it on a whim with the hopes that I can work a new catagory around it. Again, we will see what the end result is using it in soap.

We will not be able to test the above fragrances until we are well past manufacturing our fall and Christmas soap. I’m guessing sometime after Thanksgiving with a debut date around the first of the year.

In the meantime I’m still working on putting together new scent catagories and getting fragrance samples!

As summer starts to wind down and we concentrate on our Fall Harvest products our Spring and Summer soap are quickly disappearing!

We have a limited supply of the following soap:

Blue Lotus
Ume Blossom
Asiatic Lily & Cantaloupe
Raspberry Ice
Satsuma Guave
Watermelon Herb Granita

Once these are gone they will not be available until early March at the soonest!

Right now we are heavy into our Apple Spice, Pumpkin Spice and Autumn Winds products. In a couple of weeks we will begin manufacturing and curing our holiday Christmas soaps!

We strongly suggest ordering any of the above limited quantity soap soon before they are all gone for the season!

For varieties sake we purchase and make various soap to test out new fragrance collection possibilities.

We do not go to the trouble of creating packaging for these soaps since we are not certain they will be added to a collection.

So we sell them as One-Ofs….
Most of the time once these are gone they won’t be available again.

Ocassionaly we like them so much we make them again keeping them listed in the one-of category instead of incorporating them into a collection.

This gives us and you a chance to try something new while at the same time keeping our regular product collections!

In addition to the soap we have listed I am in the process of ordering three new fragrances to try that I’m hoping will eventually make it into a new collection! We will offer these as a one-of item first and if popular will incorporate it into a new collection.

We’ve had our SUMMER soap available for a while but I just recently got the pictures up on the website!

All three soap have been a huge hit with both the packaging and the scents with Satsuma Guava being #1!

Satsuma Guava – Satsuma Guava is a mouth-watering blend of orange, lemon, guava, sweet jasmine and neroli with just a hint of musk (synthetic) and sandalwood. A tropical fruit paradise with green fruity notes!

Raspberry Ice – Fresh raspberry scent with hints of green leaf, tea, ozone air and snow topped mountains. Not a sugary-sweet raspberry!

Watermelon Herb Granita – A very different non-watermelon watermelon!

A unique complex blend of rosemary, petitgrain and watermelon with middle notes of cyclamen, pineapple, rum, jasmine and rose closing with muguet, musk (synthetic) and antique woods.

These are supposed to be ‘limited edition’ soap during the summer months but we found out last year that people love these soap year round!

So get em while they’re hot…..we will try to keep them in stock as long as we can but there will come a point where these will be out of stock until next summer!

In our newest soap (Pears, Spring, Summer) we have been using specific cosmetic grade micas….

And like all good things….

These particular micas have been discontinued by the manufacturer!

I have a very small amount on hand and will be using them up this week.

I have just spent a lot of time on one of our suppliers website picking out new, cp (cold-processed) safe micas in a wide range of colors.

So just be aware….

At some point in the near future the color of some soap is going to change as we experiment with the HUGE range of colored cosmetic grade micas!
