How cool is this!

First time ever that I have seen this…

And I approve!!!

I ordered a specific Christmas gift for my husband and it just arrived.

It was shipped in a plastic bag with these words printed right on the bag:

This bag is oxo-biodegradable and contains the epi additive. In the presence of soil, moisture or oxygen, the plastic used in this bag will convert to water, carbon dioxide and biomass and will disappear over time. A normal plastic bag takes nearly 1,000 years to degrade.

I am tempted to save the bag and plant it after Christmas then keep track of how long it takes to degrade!

You know…I am hesitant to even post this…

Seems like every time the weather(wo)men forecast a wind storm or heaven forbid snow….it never arrives…or if it does it stays up in the mountains…

Which is fine unless you are looking forward to a little bit of whiteness…especially on the weekend when you really truely do not have or need to go anywhere!

Forecast for Friday, December 12, 2009

There is a possible damaging wind storm supposedly coming in on Friday with wind gusts of up to 60 mph which is certainly strong enough to bring down trees and branches resulting in power outages.

Then come Saturday and into Sunday (and all of next week) frigid temperatures arrive with a strong possiblity of snow (yeah!!).

Please be aware, if we do not respond to email, phone calls or any other efforts of contact assume our power is out and we are gleefully sitting by the wood stove, coffee in hand, wrapping christmas presents!

Power normally goes out here only occasionally and when it does it is only out for a few hours. Once we didn’t have it restored for two days! (no kids, you can’t use the microwave…see that plug-in at the end of the cord….)

Please have patience over the weekend and into next week. We will return all emails and phone calls once we are back up and running….assuming of course the wind and snow come as forecasted!

We have two granddaughters that are coming into their Tweens….

This age group is difficult to buy for…
