Whew!

We are now back for a brief time this week after a long holiday break. Even though I had several days off I really didn’t get a chance to relax until yesturday….if you call shoveling snow relaxing!

Today and tomorrow we will be processing orders received over the holiday break.

As of Wednesday, December 31 through January 4, 2009 we will be closed for the New Year holiday and inventory control.

We will resume business as usual on Monday, January 5, 2009.

Our staff wants to thank you for your business in 2008 and we look forward to working with you in 2009!

How cool is this!

First time ever that I have seen this…

And I approve!!!

I ordered a specific Christmas gift for my husband and it just arrived.

It was shipped in a plastic bag with these words printed right on the bag:

This bag is oxo-biodegradable and contains the epi additive. In the presence of soil, moisture or oxygen, the plastic used in this bag will convert to water, carbon dioxide and biomass and will disappear over time. A normal plastic bag takes nearly 1,000 years to degrade.

I am tempted to save the bag and plant it after Christmas then keep track of how long it takes to degrade!

You know…I am hesitant to even post this…

Seems like every time the weather(wo)men forecast a wind storm or heaven forbid snow….it never arrives…or if it does it stays up in the mountains…

Which is fine unless you are looking forward to a little bit of whiteness…especially on the weekend when you really truely do not have or need to go anywhere!

Forecast for Friday, December 12, 2009

There is a possible damaging wind storm supposedly coming in on Friday with wind gusts of up to 60 mph which is certainly strong enough to bring down trees and branches resulting in power outages.

Then come Saturday and into Sunday (and all of next week) frigid temperatures arrive with a strong possiblity of snow (yeah!!).

Please be aware, if we do not respond to email, phone calls or any other efforts of contact assume our power is out and we are gleefully sitting by the wood stove, coffee in hand, wrapping christmas presents!

Power normally goes out here only occasionally and when it does it is only out for a few hours. Once we didn’t have it restored for two days! (no kids, you can’t use the microwave…see that plug-in at the end of the cord….)

Please have patience over the weekend and into next week. We will return all emails and phone calls once we are back up and running….assuming of course the wind and snow come as forecasted!

We have two granddaughters that are coming into their Tweens….

This age group is difficult to buy for…

They are no longer interested in Barbie/Brats dolls, cutsie little girl toys etc. and yet they are not quite old enough for the more teen products (ipod, cell phone etc.)

Apparently the USPS server went down yesturday and since our shopping carts are directly linked to them we were unable to provide shipping estimates and allow a complete checkout.

As of this morning USPS appears to have their servers back online and I have tested our shopping carts and everything seems to be working fine!

It is apparent that our websites (retail, dropship & wholesale) are having difficulty during the checkout process.

They were working fine as of a day or so ago so I’m assuming there has been some kind of configuration change with our website host.

I have an urgent email in to them now and hopefully we can get the problem fixed asap.

When checking out the Estimate Shipping link does not bring up the shipping options and pricing.
When going directly to checkout the website appears to go nowhere and you will get an error message.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed this issue will be fixed sometime tomorrow!

We have what I think is a fantastic logo….it was created specifically for our company and reflects our image perfectly!

We now have our very own custom made soap stamp with our logo!

This soap stamp is made from very rigid plastic (not the typical metal most stamps are made with) and two whacks with the rubber mallet placed evenly on the soap stamp gives the perfect impression.
