We were in need of more soap molds and wanted something a little different from the molds we currently use.
These molds were custom made to our specifications and are (hand) made with HDPE plastic (vs. wood like our old ones). As you can see the plastic is very thick and the molds are extremely durable and should last a lifetime!
I am in love with these molds and look forward to using them for many years to come.

Bakerella made me do it…at least that’s the story I told hubs!
See….May 15th she posted a cool giveaway….the prize being being a book called Hello, Cupcake by Alan Richardson and Karen Tack but I figured I just didn’t have a chance in h*ll of winning so I logged into my trusty Amazon.com account and snapped up a book which to my amazement arrived within 3 days! (it’s a good thing too cause the winners were posted today and I wasn’t one of them!).
Admission: I love cakes! I love custom decorated cakes!
And I wish I had the education, instruction and talent to be able to decorate cakes. I always watch the food network challenges and love the different cake themes.
My favorite local custom cake maker is Mike of Mike’s Amazing Cakes (be patient while his website loads…you won’t be disappointed!). I also love Duff of Charm City Cakes and try to watch their show Ace of Cakes when its on.
So to my way of thinking…..In order to save on cake baking and decorating classes (or so I told hubs) I would go ahead and purchase the Hello, Cupcake book hoping it would give directions so even I would be able to efficiently decorate my own cupcakes (which would be easier than a great big cake!).
I am not disappointed in this book. The creations are amazing and the directions are simply written so even the least talented cake decorating person (like me) will be able to decorate cupcakes that will wow your friends and family!
Time is limited for me to start venturing into new territory but I’m thinking the 4th of July might be a good holiday to do up a special dessert….cupcakes!
