Just for Kids Collection…

I Often Contradict Myself
By Kenn Nesbitt

I often contradict myself.
Oh no, I never do.
I argue with me day and night.
That simply isnt true.

Oh yes it is. Oh no it’s not.
I do this all day long.
Oh no I don’t. Oh yes I do.
That’s right. No way! It’s wrong.

I’m really quite agreeable.
I argue night and day.
I love to be around myself.
I wish I’d go away.

So if you see me arguing,
it’s certain that you won’t.
I like to contradict myself.
I promise you I don’t.

**Hawaiian White Ginger

Hawaiian White Ginger…also known as ‘awapuhi’.
The Hawaiian Ginger plant grows wild over the island and has a sweet, floral scent.

The ginger family (Zingiberaceae) is made up of a large group of tropical herbs. The family, ever changing, consists of about 45 genra and around 700 species. The edible gingers have forever been items of commerce. Some are grown for their roots and sold in Hawaiian markets.

Although more popularly known as a spice the flower of gingers are one of the more widely used tropical plants.
Many gingers have medicinal uses from helping asthma to relieving stomach aches. Others gingers are used as perfumes and some are thought to have a supernatural values in casing away evil spirits. Also the Hawaiians used the foamy flower heads of the variegated wild ginger for shampooing hair and quenching thirst.

**Island Breeze

Island Breeze..a soft, powdery scent with a Polynesian twist!
A unique blend of plumeria, pikake, rose and other florals.

Pikake – The variety Jasminium sambac, is a clustered flower of equally strong scent known in Hawaii as the “Pikake”. It was a favorite of Princess Kaiulani who was also very fond of Peacocks, thus the name of the flower pronounced as pea-cock-kay”.

Plumeria – Known also as Frangipani is a small genus of 7-8 species native to tropical and subtropical America.
The name of the genus is actually derived from a seventeenth-century French botanist who traveled to the new world documenting many plant and animal species – Charles Plumier.
The flowers are most fragrant at night, in order to lure sphinx moths to pollinate them. Plumeria flowers have no nectar, and simply dupe their pollinators. The flowers are pollinated as the moths inadvertently transfer pollen from flower to flower in their fruitless search for nectar.

**Plumeria

The traditional lei flower of Hawaii with a light floral scent.

Delicacy is synonymous with Plumeria, or Frangipanni.
From its delicate limbs sprout extremely delicate and gorgeous pastel-colored flowers.
Its flowers are the beads in a Hawaiian lei.

Although Plumeria can be grown as shrubs, they will eventually become trees, growing up to an approximate height of 32 feet (10 m) high. A common variety, Plumeria rubra, has several different manifestations. One bears smallish white flowers with a yellow eye with some pink on the outside edge, while others have larger flowers, with pink and yellow; both have pointed leaves.

Herbal Tea Collection…

All tea comes from the ‘Camellia Sinensis’, an evergreen shrub that may grow up to 60′ in the wild. There are over 3,000 varieties of tea, each with its own specific characteristics.Tea is harvested after each flush (the sprouting of the top two leaves and bud) and processed into any of the four types of tea: black, green, oolong and white.

Black tea is withered, fully oxidized and dried and yields a hearty, amber colored tea.
Green tea skips the oxidizing step and is simply withered and dried. It has a more delicate taste and is pale green/gold in color.
Oolong tea is withered, partially oxidized and dried. Oolong is a cross between black and green tea.
White tea is the least processed and the most expensive. A rare tea from China, white tea is not oxidized or rolled but simply withered and dried by steaming.

The main chemical substances in tea are essential oils, cafeine and polyphenols. The essential oils give the tea aroma, the caffeine stimulates the central nervous system and the polyphenols account for the antioxidant and antidisease properties.

We have created three specific tea blends that are complimentary to each other. Even if you are not a tea drinker you just might find yourself in love with our tea products!

**Chai Tea & Fig

A unique blend of green teas, underlined with peach, spice and a hint of black pepper!

Here is a chai tea recipe that you might enjoy!

    Chai Tea

  • 1 1/2 c. Water
  • 1″ of Cinnamon Stick
  • 8 Cardamom Pods
  • 8 Whole Cloves
  • 2/3 c. Milk
  • 6 tsp. Sugar (or to taste)
  • 3 tsp. any unperfumed Black Tea

Put water in pan. Add cinnamon, cardamom and cloves. Bring to boil, cover and turn heat to low.
Simmer for 10 min. Add milk and sugar, bring to simmer. Add tea leaves, cover and turn off heat.
Let sit 2 min. Strain tea into two cups and serve!

While your chai tea is heating go draw yourself a nice hot bath. Take your chai tea & fig soap, your cup of tea and your favorite candle (chai tea & fig candle coming soon!) and enjoy a hot, relaxing bath.
Don’t forget to apply our chai tea & fig body lotion afterwards!

**Red Currant & Green Tea

A tart berry that mixes beautifully with the distinct aroma of green tea!

To help cool off during a hot summer day try our Red Currant & Green Tea soap during a long, cool shower. Don’t forget to apply our Red Currant & Green Tea body lotion afterwards!

For a special treat try this tea recipe:

  • 2 bags Green Tea
  • 1 1/2 c. Water
  • 1 c. Honey
  • 1 c. Orange Juice
  • 1/2 c. fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1 c. fresh Fruit, crushed
  • 1 pint Ginger Ale

Make tea per tea bag instructions and let cool. Blend all ingredients except ginger ale.
Just before serving add ginger ale and crushed ice.

**White Tea & Ginger

Warm and full bodied with notes of lemon, an exotic spice blend rounded out with a hint of jasmine.

The production of white tea is very different to green tea and is the most expensive of the teas.
The tea leaves must show a very light green almost gray white color and be covered with velvet peach fuzz down. The perfect specimen is a leaf or two being wrapped around a newly developing shoot. These shoots are picked and separated from the rest of the leaf and are naturally withered until dried.
